Prairie Center - Brighton, CO

Brighton, CO

Brinkmann Constructors started construction on the Prairie Center project in March 2004. Prairie Center is a multi-use development which consists of retail, office, mixed residential, parks, open space, schools, and regional commerce areas. The project started with 1,800 acres of farm land with no existing infrastructure. Brinkmann Constructors has been constructing approximately $30 million in infrastructure improvements to facilitate the first phase of the retail power center. The first phase of retail construction consists of 250 acres of retail sitework and approx. 2.5 million square feet of retail buildings. It is anchored by a Home Depot and Super Target, both now open. The Streets at Prairie Center, twelve village style retail buildings are almost complete as is West Bar at Prairie Center, which includes an Office Depot, PetSmart and Dollar Tree. The next major retail stores will be a JC Penney and a Dick's Sporting Goods, both anticipated to be complete in May of 2008. The residential phase of Prairie Center should be starting up in 2008. The full Prairie Center project is to be completed in phases and is not scheduled to be built out until the year 2015.
